Preschool

Our Pleasant Run Preschool School has a stellar reputation with the thousands of families who have been associated since its founding in 1972. The school is known as a safe place where children are guided, loved, and educated.

Located at New Hope, the school offers a loving environment for children between 3 and 5 years of age. Families may choose two, three, four, or five-sessions per week. The School offers half-day sessions.

Children develop in many ways in this nurturing environment. A special emphasis is placed on the following areas to prepare students for kindergarten readiness:

•Bible stories
•Social skills
•Large and small muscle development
•Language skills
•Pre-reading and writing skills
•Science activities
•Art and music
•Numbers

All of our nurturing, guidance, and educational efforts support and develop a positive self-image in our students. All aspects of our curriculum are age appropriate.

1.Above all, we strive to foster a positive, healthy, and safe environment that will facilitate the development of strong moral and spiritual values in our children.
2.We believe and teach that each child is uniquely special so the students experience security and a healthy sense of self worth.
3.We instill in our students a high level of respect for others and for their property.
4.We are committed to helping our children enjoy being part of a group as they learn to work, play, and share with the others in the class.
5.Self-expression is encouraged through language experiences and art.
6.Respect for and appreciation of our physical bodies are taught as children develop muscle skills through games and play.
7.Our students quickly grow in the love of music as we teach songs, rhymes, and rhythms.
8.Responsibility grows as each child learns to take care of the toys and equipment.
9.We make a concentrated effort to ensure each of our students is prepared for a positive transition into kindergarten.

We believe that children must see themselves in a positive way and then they can achieve and function successfully with others. We desire that our students grow into healthy students, adjusted adolescents, and mature adults so we encourage each child to have a strong sense of self and to take pride in their accomplishments.
